hey guys and girls!
i know it's Christmas Eve,but i dont really feel like watching those Christmas movies anyway..
well, i've just been in a reflective mood lately.And i realize how many people dun really know what Christmas is...in the Christian context,that is.So i've taken it upon myself to explain...or remind(if u already knw) why it is that we celebrate this occasion..
For starters, it's the birth of Jesus Christ.Now it's not the exact date...but close. He was born of the Virgin Mary in a stable in Bethlehem.See,there was no place for them at the inn,so yup..she had to deliver in a stable---with all the horses,goats,cows,sheep,etc etc.....AND he was laid in a MANGER...btw,that's where the animals' food are laid..animal food meaning hay,leftovers,and such. EWW rite? which is why the gift of Jesus' as a person is for everyone..rite from the lowliest...
Since Christmas is about giving, God's present to us IS Jesus...His only Son. He came to die for our sins..all of us,past,present and future...only condition is that we acknowledge what He did on the Cross,and lead our lives according to Him.Since it's a GIFT,we cant do anything to EARN it...it's just given,specially for us.Up to us whether we want or not. It's the privilege of CHOICE.
And like all other gifts we get,sometimes we just put them up on the display cupboard....and look at it once it awhile,or take it out to polish it...in the same way,if we accept Jesus(the gift) and put it away in one compartment until furthur use,it wont really serve it's purpose..and of course,the Giver(God) will be sad.
And like SOME gifts we get,it comes with manuals...so we have to read it(the Bible)..to find out how is it that we shud use our Gift to the fullest.Jesus is our Lord,our King,our brother(we're called children of God),our friend.
