Ugliness - Blessing in Disguise?

Ugliness - a word which most of us would associate with something which we wouldn't like to look at or consider disgusting or just downright horrible-looking.

Ugliness is a quality possessed by physical things that are unappealing to the senses, especially visually. Basically the quality of something or someone or anything which is unpleasant to look at and where you'd be wishing you have something nicer and prettier to look at. You should get what I mean by now right?

And so by that, it would mean that generally people would not want to cast their eyes upon unpleasant-looking objects, including humans considered to be err.. ugly. Therefore, if an ugly person would not be looked at or given good, proper attention by other people, this means that the ugly person wouldn't have much contact with those who push them away. If those people who consider themselves to be too beautiful to mingle with those they consider their inferior in the beauty department, then, in other words, the ugly ones would be treated as the outcasts of the "Beautiful Society".

Okay then, you must be wondering.. "Why is there a possibility that ugliness, by the standards of the world, might be a blessing in disguise?"

Well here's my opinion, which may be horribly wrong and distorted. [There's a reason why my blog is called Rachelisation, you know]

One, if you're ugly and someone is trying to initiate a relationship with you, despite how you look like, that would be something out of the ordinary right? This would or might mean that the initiator who is trying to establish a friendship with the so-called ugly person, has been able to look beyond the mere outer appearance of the so-called ugly one OR the initiator is attracted to the non-physical qualities of the so-called ugly one.

Now, is it not a blessing to have people interested or liking us even though we're not the Most Beautiful or the Most Handsome or you're just downright Miss Plain Jane? Because this would mean that they are sincerely interested in forging a relationship with our soul, which has got no face or body! Apart from that, it would also mean that the so-called ugly person would have a likelier chance to be cherished forever. After all, whatever physical beauty or attractiveness (or lack thereof!) that a person has will eventually fade and be completely gone one fine day, leaving the person bare to his or her very own soul, which in my opinion, is the true self.

But it's not all as simple as that of course! Beauty and Ugliness is very subjective. It's a very natural thing and a basic human need to feel beautiful and desired. I mean who in the right mind would want to look ugly? Look all around us and see the obsession with perfection and beauty - that's a vivid picture of the situation itself! I once read a short story entitled "Beautiful" by Jeffrey Deaver in which an extremely beautiful model underwent plastic surgery to make herself look plain in other to shake off a maniacal stalker who's completely obsessed with her to the extent that she cannot live a normal life. That's how extreme people can get!

So maybe in a way, being considered ugly by the "Beautiful People" may be a blessing, depending on the way you see it. In short, beauty is NOT skin deep; ugliness is skin deep. There's more beauty to uncover within a person than what you just see on the surface. Until then, we shall just wait for those wonderful people who will act as the Mirrors in our lives that will say to us, "You are the Fairest of them all."

So what i exactly do in college? Study study study talk in class talk kena from lecturer study talk again. After class? Most likely go Asia with my friends and have a game of Dota or two. On Fridays we'll go for movies , bowling , pool badminton etc. Argh i have a test tomorrow. How annoying. Oh ya my classmates are constantly singing. All kinds of song. But the most frequent one will be Keep Your Hands Off My Girl...

Orientation~

Yes, about orientation~

Before our day of orientation, Lower 6 students(duh!) were divided into 10 groups. Me & Wei Ren were in Group 10 (he as leader)...so the groups were 'ordered' to create a name(duh! Or else it'll be dull, nya!), group identity, & name tags. Oh yea! group cheers too. Among the names are(not according to group number):

1. Superstar(Brandon Lee as leader~you know, Dominic Lee's lil' bro???)-the members wear red cloth above their eyes with the word "Super *the star logo*" clearly glued(?) on it. Chung Keat, Ravi, Yuen Ling & Rohani are in.
2. Lemonade- this group actually carries a lemon around! I think they take turns~gotta praise their teamwork for that...
3. Star Devils- wears a headband with horns(made from black paper,i think) on it. Looks more like cat ears when it gets wet. Got teased by one of the PTE comittees as 'horny'. Has a small flag too,made out of manila paper. So far, I only knew Radika is in.
4. Lattice- can't remember their identity~ not that distinguishable to me...Jie Qi is leader, Xiang Ling's in too.
5. Senbon Zakura-definitely got this name from the Japanese animation hit, Bleach! Stands for '1000 cherry blossoms' (though I don't think most of them knew about this...). Sin Huei's leader.
6. Bootlickers- wears bandanna & has a flag (a yellow boot[PCK Ptd.?])...Levin's leader (no wonder the group name's odd). Su Ann's in.
7. F.U- I'm serious!!! There is such group name! Only it doesn't stand for what MOST of you might think... F.U stands for~ Funky United!!! Almost sounded like the original meaning, ne? Forgot their group identity~
8. Star Shine- Our group! wears a purple cloth on our left wrist. Fun enough, & ROCKS man~!!!

I have forgotten the other two groups~haih! What I know one of the group has only a guy in it, & Nishanti is leader of that particular group. Anyways, yesterday we did introduction among group members (with face-smeared-with-scented-powder-&-lipstick consequences). Before that, we got to see last year's Orientation King & Queen perform (he actually did belly dancing & body shaking Bollywood-style, while wearing sari, covering his face, wears loose boobs and dance according to the song "My Humps"! So damn funny XD. While she sang 'Through The Rain' guitar version played by a guy). We also played indoor games, but it was boring to me, because most of it copied NS. Exp. the chicken dance; & Egg,Chicken,Dinosaur(Rock Scissors Paper). We also did Kuhan's 'famous' Banana Dance.

Today was all outdoor activities. So far I have noticed, Star Shine & Superstars are the most competitive rivals. So, it was a wet-with-tissue-paper-sticking-all-over-your-body, 'flour'ry, & tiring day! We actually had to run around the whole school since the game stations (there are 12 of them) are all over the school.

Next Monday is drama based on movies. My group chose Star Wars. There was also Harry Potter, Pirates of The Carribean, White Chicks, King Kong, Spiderman, X-Men, Matrix, Narnia, & LOTR. Now comes the main problem; we have no idea about Star Wars, & we need storylines quick! If possible, humourous ones! If you have, please give them to Wei Ren before Monday!!! Thank you~!!!

The legacy of Pervert Kingdom lives on! I've successfully influenced some of my friends and they're now officially CORRUPTED! One of them even said "I want to molest myself". His ambition is to make a molester star out of himself. It'll be a show of him molesting himself. So please support him. There's also this guy who likes to touch other guys for no reasons. He is also the Master of making THE sound. There's another guy who's always saying the f word. He uses it in his every single sentence.

Anyway anyone interested to go out for dinner this Saturday? Just to see Joseph with his bald head and other friends of course. Anyone?

*Sigh* Men...(no offence, people!!!)

Not many things are happening here, just that my father had to go hospital again a few days ago; another dehydration attack~ Luckily he didn't have to stay there. Just give drips & can go home. Then there's his backache. My brother had to massage him (he's good in massaging~or so my dad praises). Despite the pain, he still can go up to Genting! There was an office function or something like that... That really pissed my mom off~ Okay, better shut my mouth about him for now...

Then there's my bro. He & his *ahem*... Even my parent don't know who it is! He has already kept many secrets regarding ** from them. Most of them I already knew, but I couldn't tell them (told me not to tell them). What he didn't know, it's giving me unnecessary (did I spell that correctly?) pressure... I heard from my mom his studies are deteriorating too. What can I do~ it's his future not mine... Teenagers these days~ Now I sound like an "amah"!

I don't want to write anymore, it's too disturbing for me, but I had to tell SOMEONE at least, right? If possible, just assume this as crap. Don't talk to me about it either~ Arigatou for your co-operation *bows*.

haih, i guess all of u are like me, lazy to blog..haha..lol

i think i will talk bout my NS experiences la..(k k, maybe u guys aren't interested, but i will blog bout it anyway, haha)

NS was fun..seriously.. i still remember d 1st week, everyone was fighting for d phone booth..to make calls..sometimes we have to line up for one hour juz to make a 5 minutes phone call..due to d shortage of phone booths..and during d 1st week too, many ppl cried including guys k..dey juz couldn't simply adjust to d new lifestyle (u noe, wake up at 430, sleep at 11, d food, d toilet)
but as d second week approaching, most of us kinda got used to d new environment ade..we all knew d routine by heart..for example, at 6, we will do senaman pagi..den, at 8 till 12, we have class (yea, smtht like school, its juz tht d teachers are more frenly and are willing to help when we have problems) and at 2 to 430, we have physical activities..tis are juz some part of our activities there..lazy to type so much..haha

and yea, NS is d place to know ppl..i have encountered all kinds of ppl there..some are mean, some are arrogant, some are slutty..haha..but..sabahan ppl..really must tell u guys bout them...dey are juz so friendly...dey are simple too as in like dey are contented with everythin dey have and not complaining (unlike we ppl from semenanjung, haha) and dey are tough too..all d teachers(sabahan) are d best ppl i ever meet in my life..

k, let's talk bout my dorm..basically, there's 6 ppl in one dorm..i'm in Bilik 10..3 of us are Malays and 2 bumi and 1 chinese which is me..haha..at 1st, i felt a lil awkward coz i seemed like d odd one there..but as time passed, i got along well with them..we had so much fun together..i miss them now..haha
d toilet, gosh, there's so many bugs there..all big-sizes wan somemore..d water is freezing cold..imagine u bathing 0 degree water at 430 in d morning!!!

wat else to talk bout NS ah? actually, there's are so much i wanna tell..but i guess i will juz end here la..honestly, i regretted coming back early..i shud have stay there till i tamat latihan(which is 2moro)..guess its too late to complain bout that rite? haha

overall, NS is a place all of us shud go.. i've known so many new great frens and i've learn alot of new things too..oh ya, kayaking is one of d best thing that ever happened to me..shooting too..haha

The Unexpected Plans

Everyone is like missing. I need so people here! Foo exhausted. Interested to know my college life?

Well today i'm supposed to go for a movie with my schoolmates but something came up so they can't come , leaving me alone. I asked YiJun and some of my other classmates whether they want to follow me for the movie. They agreed and i checked the time for the show. The show will be at 2.20. College ended at 12. So i went for my lunch while YiJun went over to AC to find for his old friend. KeeLeong went over later. So after their lunch , YiJun followed his friend for a game of pool dumping me KeeLeong and Vijo behind. Typical him. So the three of us went for Dota. We played CS but we soon come to realise its no fun since its all about sniper.

Dota was 5 on 5. I was using Mangix which i don't know how to use so as expected i was extremely noob. Vijo was using Phatom Assasin while KeeLeong with Akasha. Well we have the good heroes but we lost. Another game lost.(We left before the game ended. My first time as a leaver) We were suppposed to leave for the movie but then we were running late. Then comes the annoying part. We were all rushing and there's like this long trailer trying to get into INTI. The driver was so bad at driving that the tyres on one side went into a hole or something. The trailer was blocking the whole road! The workers there managed to pull out the trailer but during that time , we were complaining and complaining. You should see the looks on the workers face when YiJun annoyed them with his 'superb' driving skills.

So we finally got to Sunway Pyramid but we had difficulties finding a place to park the car. YiJun parked and we headed for the cinema. The cinema was like packed with people! Talk about making early plannings. So we then decided not to go for the movie anymore. We went to bowl instead. Played only one game this time. KeeLeong won the game. Though i got 2 strikes at the end , i still lost. I'm losing my touch i guess while YiJun and Vijo are getting better everytime they played.

Snooker was after that. Took 2 tables. Me against Vijo and YiJun against KeeLeong. Well the game went well Vijo and me are getting better while YiJun is still playing around with the balls. He was like simply shooting the balls. It was soon time to leave so we called ZhengHan as he will be following us to 3K for badminton. Again YiJun with his superb driving skills , he forgot to pay for the parking fee so he went in the wrong direction from the traffic. The guard there was like hitting the door of the car. We didn't really bother about him and YiJun just drove off. Guess he's really pissed with us.

We went to 3K straight after that. Well it's just a game of badminton and i feel really good after sweating so much. Its really exhausting though. Well big fun comes with big sacrifice. I spent too much in a day and i'm officially broke! Now i realise the importance of our hands. Hands are useful for Dota , bowling , snooker and badminton!
